WebFirst, I went from 40 mg to 20 mg of omeprazole, really slowly, then I switched to 40 mg pepcid and then 20 mg pepcid. I have been off PPIs now for almost 100 days and off pepcid for 1 week. I'm still taking probiotics, but nothing else. I think reducing stress and getting better sleep helped me heal more than the medication.
